@sewmindful symposium
On March 24th 2017 we have arranged a great panel of speakers and some lovely @sewmindful activities as a way to explore how textiles and mindfulness intersect in a way that can be particularly helpful for those suffering from low mood and poor mental health.
If you are interested in mindfulness, creativity, textiles and sewing and mental health (particularly women’s mental health) then this is the event for you. We expect to welcome mindfulness teachers interested in working in the creative field, creative people interested in mindfulness, health care professionals and those using health care services.
We have rented a gallery space in Hampstead (just five minutes from the tube) with a lovely café and we will be showcasing the work of @LizFinegold and some of the works in progress from our Weaving a New Story Project – working with mindfulness, textiles and mum’s with postnatal depression. We are grateful to our partners at Cocoon Family Support and King’s Cultural Institute.
Here is the link to the program and you can register for the event via Eventbrite.
There are a few videos describing the project on the Mindfulness Centre of Excellence YouTube channel.
